The close connection between the Larrivée family and The Twelfth Fret extends back to when we opened in 1977. We sold Larrivée guitars from day one and never looked back. Larrivée design and ultra-clean joinery set the benchmark for all newcomers to the world of guitar-making. Jean Larrivée influenced countless aspiring Luthiers to build the finest guitars, utilizing the latest advancements in finish, wood glue, and guitar-wood technology. Several of our staff had their roots in Larrivée’s workshops, including David Wren, who was Jean’s first formal apprentice. Although the classic original L-body guitars are nearly impossible to beat, we continue to be amazed by the innovative new models and variations on classic models.
