Hands on Guitars opened in 1984 after I graduated from Berklee College of Music and began teaching guitar repair and construction. I transitioned into retail when I received dealer invitations from Fred Gretsch Jr. and Larrivée. Jean Larrivée, often considered the Canadian version of C.F. Martin, has significantly influenced the lutherie community. In my 50 years in the industry, no brand matches Larrivée’s consistency and value. I’ve worked on various famous instruments, but Larrivée stands out for its stellar materials and craftsmanship across all price points. I carry a wide range of models, educating clients about body size and wood combinations to help them find the perfect instrument. My partnership with Larrivée has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career, bringing joy to many musicians.
